Parasites

This is an excellent website of the Companion Animal Parasite Council. It contains important information concerning pets, parasites, and people as well as parasite control guidelines.

General Pet Health

Veterinarypartner.com provides reliable, up-to-date animal health information from veterinarians and experts of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), the world’s first and largest online veterinary database and community. The information is organized into categories including, dogs, cats, reptiles, and small mammals.

OVC & Associations

The Ontario Veterinary College website offers general information about the teaching hospital as well as the Ontario Veterinary College itself. Another interesting read is the "Best Friends" newsletter which is located within the Pet Trust portion of the website.

The American Animal Hospital Association's public website offers a very good pet care library. There is a wide variety of information available in the library from behaviour or nutrition tips to information on common companion animal diseases. This website also offers a section for kids as well as a "Pet Planet Newsletter".

The American Veterinary Medical Association's official public information site is an excellent resource. Like the previous sites, this site also offers information on common companion animal diseases, animal safety (travel, seasonal, first aid, etc.), and buying/selecting the appropriate pet. It also offers a section on pet loss and grieving.

The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) website offers a section for "Pet Owners". This section contains information on some of the common disease processes, tips on traveling, poisonous plants, a new puppy/kitten handbook, as well as a link to help find veterinarians throughout Ontario.
